How to Wash and Care for Performance Fabrics
Keep your technical gear breathable, fresh and in shape for years with these easy care habits.
Performance fabrics are built to work hard, but a few habits make them last twice as long.
Washing
- Turn garments inside out and close zips.
- Wash cold (30 °C or lower) with a mild detergent.
- Skip fabric softener: it clogs the fibres that wick sweat.
Drying
Air dry whenever you can. High heat damages elastic and bonded seams.
Odour
Wash soon after training. For stubborn smells, soak for 30 minutes in water with a cup of white vinegar before washing.
Waterproof jackets
Wash them too. Dirt stops the water-repellent finish from working. A low tumble dry afterwards reactivates it.
