Behind the Seams: How We Test Our Jackets
Rain towers, wind tunnels and a lot of muddy weekends: a look inside our product testing lab.
Every jacket we sell goes through three stages of testing before it reaches the store.
1. The lab
A rain tower sprays each prototype for two hours while sensors measure how much water gets through. A wind tunnel checks the fit and the noise of the fabric at speed.
2. The field
Our testers wear the jackets for a full season: commutes, hikes and at least one very wet festival.
3. The washing machine
Fifty wash cycles later, we test again. If the jacket does not pass, it goes back to the design team.
“We would rather delay a launch than sell a jacket that leaks.”
